In a round when you use your powers, you become slightly dizzy. This is more flavor than a limitation, but might make you miss things obvious to others. When asleep, you count as being in a trance, as outlined under the focus action below. This allows you to act even when asleep, but if you use powers in this state you will not awaken.

Focus

You can focus any time you are not in a trance. When you do so, you enter trance until the end of the encounter. This makes you oblivious to things not related to your powers and the situation at hand. Distractions like environmental conditions, traps, phone calls, distant explosions, allies, and bystanders are obfuscated for you, meaning you cannot use your skills to notice or analyze such things but have to rely on your [[Attributes & Skills (Action)|default attribute]] for each skill instead. This most often applies to [[Spot (Action)|Spot]] rolls, but can apply to any skill.
