Unofficial rules compendium

The tough kineticist was brought up in the way of the body. A tough upbringing and innumerable skirmishes have made him a warrior of unmatched resilience. His body has a sheen of his chosen element.

Class Information

This is a martial arts archetype.

Class: Kineticist.

Hit Die: d8.

Class Abilities

The tough kineticist has all the class abilities of the kineticist, except as noted below.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A tough kineticist is proficient with all simple weapons but not with any shields or armor.

Way of the Body Armor Bonus (Ex)

As long as he is not wearing any armor, a tough kineticist gains a circumstance bonus to natural armor equal to his Constitution bonus. He can use shields normally and the bonus stacks with both natural armor and with enchantment bonuses to natural armor.

Note that temporary Constitution modifiers, such as those from bear's endurance, do not increase the armor class bonus from this ability.

This ability replaces the free elemental defense a kineticsist gains at level 2. The tough kineticsist can still learn the elemental defence of his primary element by choosing the expanded defense utility wild talent.

Summary of Lost Class Abilities

These abilities of the original class are lost or modified in this archetype:

  • Armor Proficiency
  • Elemental Defense
