Unofficial rules compendium

The tantrist is a wizard that channels sexual energies. Often considered something of a perversion, either from a moral standpoint or because he uses energies in the physical world that ought to be channeled into spirituality, the tantrist is always a controversial figure. Tantrists practice all kinds of magic, but most of them are capable of dramatically destructive eruptions of power.

Class Abilities

This archetype has all normal class abilities, except as noted.

Class Skills

The tantrist's class skills are Appraise (Int), Bluff (Cha), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Fly (Dex), Knowledge (Arcana) (Int), Knowledge (Local) (Int), Knowledge (Religion) (Int), Profession (Wis), and Spellcraft (Int).

Sexual Spell Preparation (Ex)

A tantrist has a spellbook, but does not need it to prepare spells. Instead, the tantrist must engage in one hour of sexual activity with another creature to prepare spells. The tantrist's sexual partner must be a helpless or cooperating intelligent creature, one he is sexually attracted to. It can be a familiar, a summoned creature, or otherwise under the tantrist's control. Using an unwilling partner this way is of course an evil act.

The tantrist needs his spell book to engage in spell research, to scribe new spells, or to create magic items.

Flexible Focus

A tantrist gains a bonus feat at level one. This can be a metamagic feat, Inscribe Magic Tattoo, or Spell Mastery. If you pick Inscribe Magic Tattoo, you ignore the prerequisites.

This replaces the Scribe Scroll bonus feat wizards gain at level 1.

Spell Eruption (Ex)

Any evocation spell the tantrist casts that causes damage does an additional point of damage per die. This replaces the wizard's arcane bond class feature.

Summary of Changed Class Abilities

These abilities of the original class are lost or modified in this archetype:
