Unofficial rules compendium

The scarred brawler grew up under very tough circumstances, perhaps as a pit fighter, abused slave, or as the chopping chicken in a tribe of savage humanoids. Scarred both physically and emotionally by this abuse, the scarred brawler has developed a tough demeanour and even tougher constitution. This is a martial artist of the way of the body.

Class Information

This is a martial arts archetype, a tough-as-nails brawler.

Starting Money: 1d6 × 10 gp (average 35 gp)

Class: Brawler.

Hit Die: d10.

Class Abilities

The scarred brawler has all the class abilities of the brawler, except as noted below.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A scarred brawler is proficient with all simple weapons plus all weapons from the close fighter weapon group. She is not proficient with any armor or shields.

Way of the Body Armor Bonus (Ex)

A scarred brawler gains a circumstance bonus to natural armor equal to his Constitution bonus. The bonus stacks with both natural armor and with enchantment bonuses to natural armor. The scarred brawler loses this benefit if he wears armor or carries a shield.

Note that temporary Constitution modifiers, such as those from bear's endurance, do not increase the armor class bonus from this ability.

This replaces the brawler's AC bonus ability.

Living Scars (Ex)

At 5th level, the brawler's way of the body armor bonus counts as if it had the ghost touch armor property. This replaces close weapon mastery.

Summary of Lost Class Abilities

These abilities of the original class are lost or modified in this archetype:
