A hostile summoner subscribes to a philosophy where summoning a creature and risking its life and well-being is an inherently hostile act. As a result, hostile summoners tend to summon creatures of alignments opposed to their own. Others often feel this is a corrupt philosophy sure to lead to corruption, but if so the corruption is too subtle to have been proven.

Class Information

This is a summoner archetype

Hit Die: d8.

Class Features

This hostile summoner has all normal summoner class features, except as noted.

Augment Summoning

At first level a hostile summoner gains Augment Summoning as a bonus feat and counts as knowing the Spell Focus (conjuration) feat for the purpose of feat prerequisites.

Hostile Summons

The act of summoning or calling a creature of an alignment or alignment subtype is an act of the opposite alignment of the creatures summoned. Summoning creatures of a certain alignment is less significant than summoning a creature of an alignment subtype; summoning a xill is a significant good act because it has the evil subtlety, while summoning a cloaker is a minor lawful act since the cloaker is of chaotic neutral alignment, but lacks an alignment subtype. A summoned creature is still bound by the summoner's orders, but interprets its orders according to its personality and alignment; a demon ordered to save a good church may find killing the refugees inside is the best way to insure the safety of the building, while an angel ordered to stop a riot would most likely choose nonviolent or nonlethal methods to do so. The hostile summoner is responsible for the actions of his summoned creatures. If the summoner goes unconscious, his summoned creatures still cannot harm him or his allies, but are otherwise free to act as they want, and may go on a rampage.

Summoning the eidolon is not subject to this ability; it remains an act of an alignment corresponding to the eidolons alignment and subtype(s).
