This is a Fighter subclass for 5A

You have mastered an element and combine your fighting prowess with elemental power.

Greyhawk Elemental elites are remnants of the elite fighting forces of the Temple of Elemental Evil. Destroyed multiple times, these fighting arts have been imitated by others and now has a small but dedicated following. Unfortunately, conservative protectors of the peace near the former temple site are likely to be very suspicious of anyone displaying these talents.

Subclass Abilities

Elemental Affinity

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you must select an elemental affinity. All your abilities are affected by this choice. If you already have affinity for an element from race, class, or otherwise, you must select the corresponding element.

  • Air: Lightning and thunder damage.
  • Earth: Force and necrotic damage
  • Fire: Fire and radiant damage
  • Water: Acid and cold damage

Elemental Block

At 3rd level, when you or an ally within 5 ft. takes damage of either of the types of energy linked to your chosen element, you can spend a reaction to grant you and all allies within 5 ft. of you resistance to that type of damage until the start of your next turn. This aura is centered on you and affects allies within 5 ft. of you at the time of each attack.

Elemental Strike

At 3rd level, when you hit with a melee attack, you do 1d4 elemental damage in addition to weapon damage. Each round, you can choose between the two damage types listed for your chosen element. This damage increases to 1d6 at 7th level, 1d8 at 10th level, 1d10 at 15th level, and 1d12 at 18th level. You cannot use this ability if the weapon you wield already does additional damage besides the damage of the weapon itself.

If you chose bludgeoning damage, that damage is magical. If your weapon also deals bludgeoning damage, all bludgeoning damage you deal becomes magical damage.

Elemental Shot

Starting at 7th level, you can use Elemental Strike with ranged attacks.

Elemental Resistance

At 10th level, you gain resistance to both types of energy linked to your chosen element.

Elemental Weapon

Starting at 15th level, you can replace the damage your weapon normally does with elemental damage, turning the entire damage of that attack into magical elemental damage.

Elemental immunity

At 18th level you gain immunity to both types of energy listed for your chosen element.

Designer's Notes

A very simple subclass that adds elemental damage and resistance.
