A domain cleric's deity influences her alignment, what magic she can perform, her values, and how others see her. A domain cleric chooses two domains from among those belonging to her deity. A domain cleric cannot select an alignment domain (Chaos, Evil, Good, or Law). If a domain cleric is not devoted to a particular deity, she still selects two domains to represent her spiritual inclinations and abilities (subject to GM approval). The restriction on alignment domains still applies.

Each domain grants a number of domain powers, dependent upon the level of the cleric, as well as a number of domain spells. Domain spells are used in spontaneous domain casting (see below).

In addition, a domain cleric gains the listed powers from both of her domains, if she is of a high enough level. Unless otherwise noted, activating a domain power is a standard action.

A domain cleric is devoted to a certain patron or focused sphere of influence, giving up the normal cleric's ability to channel energy for greater domain powers. Domain clerics tend to be neutral in alignment, less interested in ethics and more in their chosen focus.

Class Abilities

The domain cleric has all normal class abilities, except as noted.

Spontaneous Domain Casting

A domain cleric can channel stored spell energy into domain spells that she did not prepare ahead of time. The cleric can “lose” any prepared spell that is not an orison in order to cast any domain spell of the same spell level or lower.

A number of times each day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier (minimum zero), a domain cleric can cast any domain spell she can cast without having to "lose" a regular spell to do so.

This replaces Spontaneous Casting and Channel Energy.

Summary of Changed Class Abilities
