Creatures in Action are associated with the different origin Forms.

  • Aberrations are creatures that have been warped by powerful unnatural forces. The result of tampering or...
  • Abominations
  • Animals are mundane creatures tied to the Animal form. As animals are often exceptional and the equals of much more magical beings.
    In the Axis Mundi cosmology most animals come from the Prime, but animals exist even in other realms.
  • Automatons are mundane creatures tied to the [| Technology] form. Prime examples are robots, but androids, clockwork creatures, self-operating mahinery and vehicles, and AIs are also automatons. Less developed automatons are of low intelligence and self-awareness, but advanced automatons can be almost anything.
  • Extraordinaries are linked to the Gifts origin. Also known as gifted, mutants, elementals, demons, supers, monsters, and by a host of other names, they are creatures imbued with powers seemingly at random, or powers inherent to their nature or heritage. Extraordinaries range from dumb brutes, often elemental in nature, to humans and animals blessed with strange abilities.
    In the Axis Mundi cosmology they are linked to the Inner Planes. They also exist in the Prime, but primal extraordinaries are often seen as odd or prejudiced against.
  • Faeries are associated with the Fey origin. They are flighty creatures, like children playing at being adults. They can be capricious and cruel or kind and loving, sometimes both at once. In the Axis Mundi cosmology they are linked to Faery.
  • Folk are tied to the Mind form.
    Mundane creatures with intellect, folk build societies and often cities and nations. In the Axis Mundi cosmology folk thrive on the Prime, but can also survive on neighboring planes, even if life there is often harsh.
  • Spirits are tied to the Spiritual form. They are creatures of spirit and ideals, removed from physical reality. This group includes angels and embodiment of spiritual concepts. In the Axis Mundi cosmology eidolons thrive in the Astral Realms.
  • Undead are tied to the Death form and are neither living nor dead, exisiting on the border between worlds. Spiritual creatures yet not freed from the material, undead in the Axis Mundi cosmology are most common in the Shadowlands but also exist in neighboring realms.
