A creating artist is an artist whose works take on a tangible form in the shape

Class Information

This is a summoner archetype with artistic ability.

Hit Die: d8.

Class Skills

The creating artist's class skills are Craft (Int), Fly (Dex), Handle Animal (Cha), Knowledge (all) (Int), Linguistics (Int), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), Spellcraft (Int), and Use Magic Device (Cha).

Skill Ranks per Level: 4 + Int modifier.

Class Abilities

The artiste has all the class abilities of the summonner, except as noted below.

Spells

Add the following spells to the creating artist's spell list:

  1. Floating disc, silent image, snow shape.
  2. Crafter's fortune, disguise other, wood shape.
  3. Major image, simulacrum (lesser), stone shape.
  4. Animate objects, Fabricate, hallucinatory terrain.
  5. Limited wish, mirage arcana, permanency.
  6. Programmed image, screen, simulacrum.

Artistic Summons (Sp)

The summon monster ability of the creative artist is a full-round action to use and requires a Craft or Perform check (DC 3 + 3 times the numeral of the summon monster ability). A failed check does not cost a use of the summon monster ability. Any concentration checks required for this ability can be rolled using the Craft or Perform skill. The creating artist can use this any number of times per day equal to 3 + his Intelligence modifier + his Charisma modifier. This modifies summon monster I.

Eidolon Muse

The creating artist's eidolon is not a work of art, rather it is a creature that inspires and sponsors the creating artist. Unlike a normal eidolon, it can be summoned or dismissed as a swift action, but it can only be present a number of minutes per day equal to the creating artist's Intelligence or Charisma modifier, whichever is greater. This time need not be consecutive, but must be spent in one-minute intervals. This is a modification to the eidolon ability.

Versatile Art

Through studying crafts, the creating artist gains an insight into many areas. At 2nd level, a creating artist can choose one type of Craft or Perform skill. He can use his bonus in that skill in place of his bonus in associated skills. When substituting in this way, the summoner uses his total Craft skill bonus, including class skill bonus, in place of its associated skill's bonus, whether or not he has ranks in that skill or if it is a class skill. At 6th level, and every 4 levels thereafter, the creating artist can select an additional type of Craft or Perform to substitute.

If the creating artist chooses a Perfom skill, the benefits are the same as that of the bard's versatile performance ability. If he chooses on of the Craft skills listed below, he gains the listed associated skills: Blacksmithing (Intimidate, Sense motive), Calligraphy (Bluff, Linguistics), Carpentry (Disable device, Survival), Carving (Handle animal, Survival), Founding (Acrobatics, Heal), Glasswork (Heal, Perception), Jewelry (Appraise, Bluff), Leatherworking (Handle Animal, Ride), Locksmith, Trapmaking (Disable device, Perception), Painting (Diplomacy, Disguise), Pottery (Perception, Swim), Sculpting (Climb, Escape artist), Tailor (Diplomacy, Stealth), Weaving (Climb, Fly), and Whitesmithing (Appraise, Disable device).

This is the reverse of the above list; it shows what skills are connected to what types of Craft. Acrobatics (Founding), Appraise (Jewelry, Whitesmithing), Bluff (Calligraphy, Jewelry), Climb (Sculpting, Weaving), Diplomacy (Painting, Tailor), Disable device (Carpentry, Locksmith, Whitesmithing), Disguise (Painting), Escape artist (Sculpting), Fly (Weaving), Handle animal (Carving, Leatherworking), Heal (Glasswork, Founding), Intimidate (Blacksmithing), Linguistics (Calligraphy), Perception (Pottery, Glasswork, Locksmith), Ride (Leatherworking), Sense motive (Blacksmithing), Stealth (Tailor), Survival (Carpentry, Carving), and Swim (Pottery).

Alter Reality (Su)

A creating artist of 19th level can display a work that alters reality, depicting the world in such a way that it becomes real. This is similar to a wish spell. The effect of the wish must be expressed trough art, which takes at least 1 hour and requires a Craft or Perform check (DC 40) and costly materials worth 25,000 gp. A failed check can be tried again and does not consume the materials. This replaces gate.
