Unofficial rules compendium

A child of the wild grew up in the wilderness, far from man and his trappings. Unfamiliar with many of man's tools, she has never grown to depend on such crutches and is a perfect noble savage and a natural practitioner of the Way of Life.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A child of the wild is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with shields (except tower shields) but not with any armor.

AC Bonus (Ex)

When unarmored and unencumbered, the child of the wild adds her Charisma bonus (if any) as a dodge bonus to his AC and his CMD. This bonus to AC applies even against touch attacks or when the child of the wild is flat-footed. She loses these bonuses when she is immobilized or helpless, when she wears any armor (but not a shield), when shew loses her dextgerity bonus to armor class, or when she carries a medium or heavy load.

Uncanny Didge (Ex)

At 2nd level, a child ofthe wild gains the ability to react to danger before her senses would normally allow her to do so. She cannot be caught flat-footed, nor does she lose her Dex bonus to AC if the attacker is invisible. She still loses her Dexterity bonus to Armor Class if immobilized. A child of the wild with this ability can still lose her Dexterity bonus to Armor Class if an opponent successfully uses the feint action against her.

This replaces the combat style feat normally gained at 2nd level.

Summary of Changed Class Abilities

These abilities of the original class are lost or modified in this archetype:

  • Weapon and Armor Proficiency
