Black Market is the seedier side of social life. A character who is a member of this social circle is well known in all the night spots, knows gaming parlors, clubs, brothels, drug-dealers and black marketers, and can find out who to bribe and who to avoid. Members of the Black Market circuit can bye and sell illicit goods rather safely. The monthly cost represent various bribes, gratuites and protection money - the price of doing business. A character who hasn't paid this price will get into trouble on any failed Black Market roll.

There is a risk that the item will be traced depending on it's value, and more expensive items are hard to find. Make an Appraise roll with the noted DC. If the roll fails by 10 or more, there is some major problem - defect goods, a setup, an investigation.

Max Value
DC
10 5
100 10
1,000 15
10,000 20
100,000 25
1,000,000 30

The price you have to pay depends on what you are peddling, and so does the DC to some degree.

Commodity Price percentage DC modifier
General goods 25% +0
Valuables 50% +0
Hardware 75% +0
Illegal/restricted hardware 100% +5
Military hardware 150% +10
Price hike ±25% +5

For every ten points of margin on the roll, there is a 25% price change in your favor. The minimum price is 10% of base price.

Goods refer to general items of no particular use to adventurers and not easy to sell - like stolen vehicles, general electronics and consumer products. Valuables include gems, gold, artworks and other high-value, low-bulk goods. Hardware is anything useful to an adventurer or criminals, like drugs, magic items, weapons and so on.
