Target Profiler (Apath)
Unofficial rules compendium | |
|
The dispassionate hunter does not hate his foes or put particular emphasis on certain foes - he hunts enemies down with calm precision. Once he learns a target profile, it joins his ever-growing list of quarries, all of which are fought just as easily.
Favored Enemy
At 1st level, a dispassionate hunter selects a creature type from the ranger favored enemies table. He gains a +2 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks against creatures of his selected type. Likewise, he gets a +2 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against them. A ranger may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to identify these creatures.
At 5th level, the dispassionate hunter may select an additional type of favored enemy and the bonus against all favored enemies increases to +3. Every 5 levels thereafter (10, 15, 20), the dispassionate hunter may add another creature to his list of favored enemies. At level 15, the bonus against all favored enemies increases to +4.
If the dispassionate hunter chooses humanoids or outsiders as a favored enemy, he must also choose an associated subtype, as indicated on the table of favored enemies. (Note that there are other types of humanoid to choose from—those called out specifically on the table below are merely the most common.) If a specific creature falls into more than one category of profile targets, the ranger's bonuses do not stack; he simply uses whichever bonus is higher.
This modifies the Favored Enemy ability.
