A doll mage does not learn spells - she builds them in the form of tiny constructs. These dolls become both servants and carriers of her spells.

Magic Dolls (Ex)

A doll mage makes magical animated dolls. Except as described below, these function as familiars, with the base creature being a tiny animated object. Each magic doll has spent it's construction point on the additional movement (fly). Most magic dolls are very lifelike. A magic doll crafted to have the form of a specific creature gains a +10 bonus on Disguise rolls to maintain this role and conceal that it is a construct or an animated object. This bonus does not stack with the bonus from disguise self and similar effects.

All magic dolls normally are in the same space as the doll mage, hovering about her or riding on her, only leaving her space if directly ordered. A magic doll in the doll mage's space has full cover (Meaning it normally does not trigger attacks of opportunity) and is immune to all area effects and need not make any Fly skill rolls to move along with the doll mage. If the doll mage teleports or is teleported, all magic dolls in her space teleport along with her. It is a move action for the doll mage to command a specific doll to move away from her space, and this command much be repeated each round the doll is to move on it's own. Note that a magic doll has no reach and must move into another creature's space to attack, leaving the doll mage's space. Commanding a magic doll to return to your space is a free action. A magic doll that is out of sight and communication with the doll mage waits 1d10 minutes, then tries to find it's master as best it can. A magic doll only casts spells as ordered, see below. It otherwise acts as ordered.

Unlike other classes that have familiars, a doll mage has several magic dolls, one for each spell she knows. Each spell is imbued into a separate doll, and the doll mage herself cannot cast spells, it is the dolls that do the actual spellcasting. It is a standard action for a doll mage to order one of her dolls to cast a spell. She can use the Quicken Spell feat to turn this command into a swift action, but the doll then takes the normal time to complete the spell. Magic dolls cast spells using the doll mage's spell slots, and as modified for any metamagic feats used.
