A thin thrusting sword, about 0.6 to 0.8 meters long and with an elaborate hilt. A development of the rapier into a shorter, more flexible weapon, the smallsword is mainly a thrusting weapon but many also have an edge. The Cane Sword or swordstick is a variant that is concealed inside a walking stick or similar item. It gives up the elaborate hilt and Parry ability for its concealment.
