Tireless Rager (Apath)
Unofficial rules compendium | |
|
The tireless rager has no control of his rage, instead raging when he suffers failures and setbacks. Once he does rage, he can do so forever.
Class Abilities
The tireless rager has all the class abilities of the barbarian, except as noted below.
Tireless
A tireless rager adds his Fortitude saving throw modifier instead of the Constitution bonus to checks made to continue running; Constitution checks made to avoid nonlethal damage from a forced march; Constitution checks made to hold your breath; Constitution checks made to avoid nonlethal damage from starvation or thirst. He also adds half his class level on the following checks and saves: Swim checks made to resist nonlethal damage from exhaustion; Fortitude saves made to avoid nonlethal damage from hot or cold environments; and Fortitude saves made to resist damage from suffocation. He can sleep in light or medium armor without becoming fatigued. Finally, a tireless rager is not fatigued when a rage ends.
Tireless Rage
This is the same as the rage ability, with the following exceptions.
- There is no limit on the number of rounds per day a frustrated rager can rage.
- The frustrated rager has no control of when he enters rage. Instead, he checks whether he enters a rage each time one of the following occurs. With each condition that is fulfilled, there is half chance that he immediately enters rage. Check each time a condition applies; multiple rolls a round are certainly possible.
- His turn begins in a combat round
- He takes damage
- He misses an attack, attribute roll, saving throw, or skill check
- It is possible for friends to spend a standard action to provoke a tireless rage, with the standard chance.
- Once in a rage, the tireless rager is not out of control of himself, he has only the normal restrictions any raging barbarian has over his own actions.
- A tireless rage is not subtle; the barbarian screams and moves around, ruining any attempt at Stealth.
- He can end a rage at will, and it ends after three rounds out of combat (or similar intense action).
- He is not fatigued at the end of a rage.
- When the rage ends, the tireless rager heals a number of hit points equal to the hit points gained from the rage bonus to Constitution.
