Elemental Sacerdote (Apath)
Unofficial rules compendium | |
|
Elemental sacredotes focus on the powers of a single element, channelling spells into elemental bursts rather than positive or negative energy.
Class Information
This is a sacredote archetype.
Alignment: Any. Elemental sacredotes tend to be neutral, avoiding the entanglements of espousing an alignment.
Class Skills
The elemental sacredote's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Craft (Int), Heal (Wis), Knowledge (Nature) (Int), Knowledge (Religion) (Int), Knowledge (Planes) (Int), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), and Spellcraft (Int). Skill Points per Level: 2 + Int modifier.
Class Features
This archetype has all normal class features, except as noted.
Elemental Domain
A sacredote must chose one or more elemental domains, and must gain access to these domains in the normal way; from a patron with the elemental domain, from a philosophy, pantheon, dualistic faith, or monotheistic deity with the elemental domain, or from a personal creed. The different choices here affects how many domains the elemental sacredote gets. The elemental domains are air, earth, fire, water, and weather, including their subdomains. Like a regular sacredote, the elemental sacredote does not gain any domain powers from his domains. This is a restriction on the domains ability.
Elemental Spell Channel (Su)
Elemental sacredotes channel elemental energies through their divine focus. This is similar to the sacredote's channel spells ability, but deals a different type of damage depending on the elemental domain(s) the elemental sacredote has access to; air (electricity), earth (acid), fire (fire), water (cold), and weather (sonic). If the elemental sacredotes has access to several elemental domains, he must choose what type of damage he does each time he uses this ability.
Elemental energy does half (instead of full) damage to incorporeal foes and is subject to elemental resistance and immunity. Elemental spell channel can be used with channeling feats, but is neither positive or negative energy which means many channeling feats do not work.
This is a modification to the channel spells ability. The elemental sacredote cannot channel positive or negative energy.
Elemental Resistance
At level 5 the elemental sacredote gains resistance to the energy type associated with his element, see elemental spell channel. Depending on how many elemental domains the elemental sacredote has, the resistance varies; if he has 1 elemental domain his resistance is 5 points. Reduce this resistance by one for each additional elemental domain he knows, to a minimum of one point of resistance against all five elements for an elemental sacredote with five elemental domains.
An elemental sacredote also ignores an amount of damage resistance equal to his own when he uses elemental spell channel. Targets with damage resistance less than or equal to this figure are not allowed to apply their resistance at all; those with greater resistance have their effective resistance reduced by this amount.
At level 10, this elemental resistance doubles. At level 15, it triples. At level 20, it quadruples.

In addition to the stated number of spells per day for 1st- through 9th-level spells, a sacredote gets an equal number of domain spells for each spell level, starting at 1st. The "x+x" in the entries on this table represents these extra spells. Bonus spells the sacredote may receive for having a high intelligence score apply to both regular spells and domain spells separately and is thus applied twice.
