The crafty investigator is streetwise and talented, but lacks alchemical training.
Class Information
This is an inquisitor archetype that replaces alchemy with extra talents.
Starting Age: The crafty investigator is an intuitive archetype, and starts in the youngest age bracket for his race.
Hit Die: d8.
Class Skills
The crafty investigator's class skills are Acrobatics (Dex), Appraise (Int), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Disable Device (Dex), Disguise (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Handle Animal (Cha), Heal (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (all) (Int), Linguistics (Int), Perception (Wis), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), Sleight of Hand (Dex), Spellcraft (Int), Stealth (Dex), Survival, Use Magic Device (Cha), and Swim (Str).
Skill Ranks per Level: 8 + Int modifier. Crafty talents and the additional class skills and skill points replace alchemy.
Class Features
The crafty investigator has all the standard investigator’s class features, except as noted below.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Crafty investigators are proficient with simple weapons, plus the hand crossbow, sap, and short sword. They are proficient in light armors, but not shields.
Crafty Talents
The crafty investigator gains more talents than a normal investigator, learning a new talent at each investigator level, including level one. Add the following rogue talents to the talents available to the crafty investigator: cat's charge, disarming talent, disease use, escaping stunt, evasion, face in the crowd, false friend, flying stunt, getaway artist, magetrap, last ditch effort, obfuscate story, outsmart traps, philologist, positioning attack, quick scrounge, quick steal, riding stunt, rumormonger, sacrifice self, sapping, scavenger, shock tactics, sleight of hand stunt, slippery mind, snap shot, steal the story, strong impression, and uncanny dodge. Crafty talents and the additional class skills and skill points replace alchemy.
Advanced Talents
At 10th level, add the following talents to the list of rogue talents the crafty investigator can learn: another day, deadly cocktail, familiar, frugal trapsmith, feat, getaway master, hard mind, hide in plain sight, improved evasion, master of disguise, redirect attack, skill mastery, and thoughtful rexamining. This replaces swift alchemy.
