The frustration rager has no control of his rage, instead raging uncontrollably when he suffers failures and setbacks

Class Abilities

The frustration rager has all the class abilities of the barbarian, except as noted below.

Tireless

A frustration rager adds his Fortitude saving throw modifier instead of the Constitution bonus to checks made to continue running; Constitution checks made to avoid nonlethal damage from a forced march; Constitution checks made to hold your breath; Constitution checks made to avoid nonlethal damage from starvation or thirst

He also adds half his class level on the following checks and saves: Swim checks made to resist nonlethal damage from exhaustion; Fortitude saves made to avoid nonlethal damage from hot or cold environments; and Fortitude saves made to resist damage from suffocation.

He can sleep in light or medium armor without becoming fatigued.

Frustrated Rage

This is the same as the rage ability, with the following exceptions.

  • There is no limit on the number of rounds per day a frustrated rager can rage.
  • The frustrated rager has no control of when he enters rage. Instead, he checks whether he enters a rage each time one of the following occurs. With each condition that is fulfilled, there is half chance that he immediately enters rage. Check each time a condition applies; multiple rolls are certainly possible.
    • His turn begins in a combat round
    • He takes damage
    • He misses an attack, attribute roll, saving throw, or skill check
  • He can end a rage at will, and it ends after three rounds out of combat (or similar intense action).
  • He is not fatigued at the end of a rage.

It is possible for friends to try and encourage the frustration rager to rage by any of the above methods. If done with Intimidate, there is no chance to demoralize.

Once in a rage, the frustration rager is not out of control of himself, he has only the normal restrictions any raging barbarian has over his own actions.

While in a rage, the frustration rager gains a number of temporary hit points equal to the additional hit points he gains from the increase in Constitution. These temporary hit points fade when the rage ends.

The frustration is not fatigued when a rage ends.

Rage Powers

The following rage powers complement this archetype: Moment of Clarity.

The following rage powers do not work well with this archetype: Beast Totem, Beastial Climber, Guarded Stance.
