Berserkers and allies of nature and animal spirits, rage druids link the world of the barbarian and the druid. Often standing outside traditional tribal hierarchies, the rage druid is the wilderness incarnate even in the barbarian societies the come from.
Class Information
This is a hybrid class, a combination of Barbarian and druid.
Role: The rage druid has considerable spellcasting ability, but it usually serves as a conduit to enhance his prowess in the wilderness. His combat skills are considerable and his ability to keep himself going in any fight and to focus his physical rage into supernatural power gives him an unexpected boost in power and versatility to overcome any challenge.
Alignment: Rage druids may be of any non-lawful alignment, but neutral alignments are more common, as many rage druids share nature's impassiveness to humanoid concerns. Tribal rage druids are usually chaotic, sharing the culture and honor of their tribe.
Hit Die: d10.
Class Skills
The rage druid’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Acrobatics (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Fly (Dex), Handle Animal (Cha), Heal (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (history) (Int), Knowledge (nature) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Perception (Wis), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), Spellcraft (Int) Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str).
Skill Ranks at Each Level: 4 + Int modifier.
Class Features
This is all the class features of the rage druid.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
A rage druid is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).
Spells
A rage druid casts divine spells drawn from the druid spell lists. A rage druid can never learn or cast spells of level 7 or higher, and such spells are not on his spell list. He can cast any spell he knows without preparing it ahead of time. To learn or cast a spell, a rage druid must have a Charisma score equal to at least 10 + the spell level. The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a rage druid’s spell is 10 + the spell’s level + the rage druid’s Charisma modifier.

Like other spellcasters, a rage druid can cast only a certain number of spells per day of each spell level. His base daily spell allotment is given on Table: Rage Druid. In addition, he receives bonus spells per day if he has a high Charisma score (see Table: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Spells).
A rage druid’s selection of spells is extremely limited. A rage druid begins play knowing four 0-level spells and two 1st-level spells of his choice. At each new rage druid level, he gains one or more new spells, as indicated on Table: Rage druid Spells Known. Unlike spells per day, the number of spells a rage druid knows is not affected by his Charisma score; the numbers on Table: Rage Druid Spells Known are fixed. In addition to the spells gained by rage druids as they gain levels, each rage druid also adds all summon nature's ally spells to his list of known spells. These spells are added as soon as the rage druid is capable of casting them.
Upon reaching 4th level, and at every three rage druid level after that (7th, 10th, and so on), a rage druid can choose to learn a new spell in place of one he already knows. In effect, the rage druid loses the old spell in exchange for the new one. The new spell’s level must be the same as that of the spell being exchanged. A rage druid may swap only a single spell at any given level, and must choose whether or not to swap the spell at the same time that he gains new spells known for the level. He cannot swap any summon nature's ally spells. Unlike a druid, a rage druid need not prepare his spells in advance. He can cast any spell he knows at any time, assuming he has not yet used up his spells per day for that spell level. Rage druids do not need to provide a divine focus to cast spells that list divine focus (DF) as part of the components. A rage druid is able to cast rage druid spells when raging.
Fast Movement (Ex)
A rage druid's land speed is faster than the norm for his race by +10 feet. This benefit applies only when he is wearing no armor, light armor, or medium armor, and not carrying a heavy load. Apply this bonus before modifying the barbarian's speed because of any load carried or armor worn. This bonus stacks with any other bonuses to the barbarian's land speed.
Orisons
Rage druids learn a number of orisons, or 0-level spells, as noted on Table: Rage druid Spells Known under “Spells Known.” These spells are cast like any other spell, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.
Rage (Ex)
A rage druid can call upon inner reserves of strength and ferocity, granting her additional combat prowess. At 1st level, a rage druid can rage for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + her Constitution modifier. For each level after 1st she possesses, the rage druid can rage for 2 additional rounds per day. Temporary increases to Constitution, such as that gained from bear's endurance, do not increase the total number of rounds that a rage druid can rage per day. A rage druid can enter a rage as a free action. The total number of rounds of rage per day is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours need not be consecutive.
While in a rage, a rage druid gains a +2 bonus on melee attack rolls, melee damage rolls, thrown weapon damage rolls, and Will saving throws. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. She also gains 2 temporary hit points per Hit Die. These temporary hit points are lost first when a character takes damage, disappear when the rage ends, and are not replenished if the rage druid enters a rage again within 1 minute of her previous rage. While in a rage, a rage druid cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skill (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.
A rage druid can end her rage as a free action, and is fatigued for 1 minute after a rage ends. A rage druid can't enter a new rage while fatigued or exhausted, but can otherwise enter a rage multiple times per day. If a rage druid falls unconscious, her rage immediately ends.
Spirit Favors
Rage druids attract the attention of some spirits regular druids don't, and as a result have access to additional spells. Add the following spells to the rage druid's spell list at the indicated levels. The rage druid must learn these spells using his known spells.
Unseen servant (1st), augury (2nd), spectral hand (2nd), spiritual weapon (2nd), see invisibility (2nd), whispering wind (2nd), helping hand (3rd), speak with dead (3rd), arcane eye (4th), divination (4th), dream (5th), find the path (6th), shadow walk (6th), and vision (6th).
Wild Empathy (Ex)
A rage druid can improve the attitude of an animal. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy check made to improve the attitude of a person. The rage druid rolls 1d20 and adds his rage druid level and his Charisma modifier to determine the wild empathy check result.
The typical domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent, while wild animals are usually unfriendly.
To use wild empathy, the rage druid and the animal must be able to study each other, which means that they must be within 30 feet of one another under normal conditions. Generally, influencing an animal in this way takes 1 minute but, as with influencing people, it might take more or less time.
A rage druid can also use this ability to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but he takes a –4 penalty on the check.
A rage druid can use wild empathy while raging, but then it is used like the Intimidate skill to to demoralize an animal or magical beast, or force it to act friendly to him.
Woodland Stride (Ex)
Starting at 2nd level, a rage druid may move through any sort of undergrowth (such as natural thorns, briars, overgrown areas, and similar terrain) at his normal speed and without taking damage or suffering any other impairment. Thorns, briars, and overgrown areas that have been magically manipulated to impede motion, however, still affect him.
Rage Power
At 3rd level and every three levels thereafter, a rage druid gains a rage power. Rage powers work the same as barbarian rage powers, counting rage druid levels as barbarian levels.
Wild Shape (Su)
At 4th level, a rage druid gains the ability to turn himself into any small or Medium animal and back again once per day. His options for new forms include all creatures with the animal type. This ability functions like the beast shape I spell, except as noted here. The effect lasts for 1 hour per rage druid level, or until he changes back. Changing form (to animal or back) is a standard action and doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity. The form chosen must be that of an animal the rage druid is familiar with.
A rage druid loses his ability to speak while in animal form because he is limited to the sounds that a normal, untrained animal can make, but he can communicate normally with other animals of the same general grouping as his new form. (The normal sound a wild parrot makes is a squawk, so changing to this form does not permit speech.)
A rage druid can use this ability an additional time per day at 7th level and every three levels thereafter, for a total of six times at 19th level. At 20th level, a rage druid can use wild shape at will.
At 7th level, a rage druid can wild shape as a swift action while raging.
As a rage druid gains in levels, this ability allows the rage druid to take on the form of larger and smaller animals, elementals, and plants. Each form expends one daily usage of this ability, regardless of the form taken.
At 10th level, a rage druid can use wild shape to change into a Large or Tiny animal or a Small elemental. When taking the form of an animal, a rage druid's wild shape now functions as beast shape II. When taking the form of an elemental, the rage druid's wild shape functions as elemental body I.
At 13th level, a rage druid can use wild shape to change into a Huge or Diminutive animal, a Medium elemental, or a Small or Medium plant creature. When taking the form of animals, a rage druid's wild shape now functions as beast shape III. When taking the form of an elemental, the rage druid's wild shape now functions as elemental body II. When taking the form of a plant creature, the rage druid's wild shape functions as plant shape I.
At 16th level, a rage druid can use wild shape to change into a Large elemental or a Large plant creature. When taking the form of an elemental, the rage druid's wild shape now functions as elemental body III. When taking the form of a plant creature, the rage druid's wild shape functions as plant shape II.
At 19th level, a rage druid can use wild shape to change into a Huge elemental or a Huge plant creature. When taking the form of an elemental, the druid's wild shape now functions as elemental body IV. When taking the form of a plant, the druid's wild shape now functions as plant shape III.
Spell Rage (Ex)
A rage druid of level 5 can cast spells and wield his weapons at the same time while in a rage. As a full-round action, he can make all of his attacks with his melee weapon(s) at a –2 penalty and can also cast any spell from the class spell list with a casting time of 1 standard action (any attack roll made as part of this spell also takes the penalty). A rage druid can choose to cast the spell first or make the weapon attacks first, but if he has more than one attack, he cannot cast the spell between weapon attacks.
Venom Immunity (Ex)
At 8th level, a rage druid gains immunity to all poisons.
Indomitable Caster (Ex)
At 9th level, a rage druid adds his Constitution bonus (if any) on concentration checks.
Enduring Rage (Su)
At 11th level, as a free action, a rage druid can extend the duration of his rage by sacrificing a spell slot; this prolongs the duration of his rage for a number of rounds equal to the level of the spell slot used.
Greater Rage (Ex)
At 14th level, when a rage druid enters a rage, his on melee attack rolls, melee damage rolls, thrown weapon damage rolls, and Will saves while raging increases to +3. In addition, the amount of temporary hit points gained when entering a rage increases to 3 per Hit Die.
Ragecaster (Su)
Starting at 17th level, a rage druid’s spells grow more potent when he rages. He adds his Constitution bonus to the save DC of any spells cast while raging.
Timeless Body (Ex)
After attaining 19th level, a rage druid no longer takes ability score penalties for aging and cannot be magically aged. Any penalties he may have already incurred, however, remain in place. Bonuses still accrue, and the rage druid still dies of old age when his time is up.
