Weapon and Armor Proficiency
An iron wizard is proficient with all simple weapons. An iron wizard is also proficient with light and medium armor. He can cast wizard spells while wearing light or medium armor without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance. Like any other arcane spellcaster, an iron wizard wearing heavy armor or a shield incurs a chance of arcane spell failure if the spell in question has a somatic component. Bonded Armor (Ex)
An iron wizard's familiar shares in any armor proficiencies the iron wizard has. An iron wizard can select a part of an suit of armor as a bonded object (usually a gorget or bracer). Heavy Armor (Ex)
At 8th level, an iron wizard gains proficiency with heavy armor. An iron wizard can cast wizard spells while wearing heavy armor without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance. Like any other arcane spellcaster, an iron wizard using a shield incurs a chance of arcane spell failure if the spell in question has a somatic component.
