Dwarves


These are the bare bone roles fot this race. For a more general description, see the Birthright Rulebook, p 5.

  • +4 Constitution, -2 Dexterity, -2 Charisma
  • Medium-size; base speed of 20 feet.
  • Darkvision: Dwarves can see in the dark up to 60 feet (in black and white).
  • Stonecunning: +2 to notice unusual stonework; automatically sense depth underground.
  • Increased density: A dwarf's dense body suffers only half damage from bludgeoning attacks.
  • Enduring strength: Dwarves can carry amazing burdens. Dwarves receive a +4 bonus to strength when determining carrying capacity.
  • +2 racial bonus on saves vs. poison & spells.
  • +2 dodge bonus against giants, orogs and ogres.
  • +2 racial bonus to appraise and craft checks related to stone and metal objects.
  • Class restriction: Cerilian dwarfs cannot be rangers, wizards or druids.
  • Automatic Languages: Karamhul.
  • Bonus Languages: Anuirean, Low Brecht, Basarji, Rjuven, Vos, Sidhelien, Giant, Gnoll, Ork, Orog.
  • Favored Class: Fighter.

Special Realm Rules

Trade routes to dwarven provinces give one extra GB of income.

Dwarven provinces have a maximum level or 9 in any mountain or hill province, otherwise half the level of the maximum province level for humans. See the Birthright Rulebook, p 96, round all fractions up. To go over level 7, a dwarven province must have a trade route to an agricultural province near by.
