Bloodline Descriptions

Seven gods died at mt. Diesmar, and left their legacy to the scions of Cerilia. These are the seven bloodline derivations of Birthright, and deserve a presentation.

Andurias

Andurias was the god of the Andu tribe, who today call themselves the Ainureans. He was a god of honor and bravery, the eldest of the old gods.

Spheres of Influence: Honor, Bravery, Air, Anuireans.

Divine Heir: Haelyn was a champion of Andurians, and today is their god. He is quite similar to his old master, but has less association to the element of air.

Mortal Heirs: Andurias' bloodline is strongest in Anuire. His heirs are usually warriors or clerics.

Bloodmark: Red or golden birthmarks, very long golden hair, ice-blue eyes with dark outer rings around the iris, very tall, booming voice, aquiline nose, broad shoulders, white teeth, vestigial tail, huge appetite, flatulence.

Azrai

Azrai betrayed the old gods; he allied with the shadow and tried to extinguish the world.

Divine Heir: Belnik and Kriesha share the honor of being Azrai's divine descendants; they can rarely agree on how to steward the power.

Mortal Heirs: The Gorgon is Azrai's most important 'mortal' heir, though he has lived all the while since Mount Deismaar, so mortal might be a misapplication. Azrai's bloodline also prosper among mortals; few admit to it, but it is not unusual. Because of the curse of the awnshegh, scions of Azrai are considered corrupt and evil, but most of Azrai's heirs do not, in fact, become awnshegh.

Spheres of Influence: Power, deceit, monsters.

Bloodmark: Very long black or white hair. Black body parts (nails, teeth) or marks on body. Very pale complexion. Eyes red or dark with horizontally split pupils. Very smooth skin. Lack of body hair. Sineous voice. Apetite for raw meat.

Reynir

Spheres of Influence: Earth, Rjurik.

Reynir was an elemental god of the earth, a stable god of perserverance who cared little for the world.

Divine Heir: Erik absorbed much of Reynir's strength, but he is much different in personality. As a god of druids and nature, he is much more caring than his predecessor, and he loves the blooming earth of forests and fields rather than the stark mountains of Reynir.

Mortal Heirs: Reynir was the god of the Rjurik; most of his heirs are of that stock, warriors, chieftains and druids.

Bloodmark: Red or tawny and hair, baldness, plentiful facial and body hair. Eyebrows grown together. Green eyes. Barrel-chest (buxom in women). Dark brown birthmarks. Strong body odor. Silent.

Basaïa

The goddess of the sun and of insight, Basaïa was a celestial goddess of nobility.

Spheres of Influence: Fire, Sun, nobility, Basarji (Khinansi), intellect, knowledge.

Divine Heir: Avanalae inherited most of her predecessors powers and spheres.

Mortal Heirs: The Khinansi honor Basaïa's bloodline the most, but it is common all over the world.

Bloodmark: Dark hair. Strong beak like nose. Marked eyebrows. Chocolate colored skin. Dark, shining, almond-shaped eyes. Red lips. Lean body. Patches of contrasting skin color (light vs. dark), often in patterns. Look of eagles. Stumbling gait. Predatory features. Bad breath. Small appetite.

Brenna

The goddess of travel, exploration and adventure, Brenna favored the Brechts.

Spheres of Influence: Travel, fortune, people, Brechts.

Divine Heir: Sarimie (Sera in Brechtür) inherited Brenna's portfolio, but she is more focused on trade and profit than on travel for it's own sake.

Mortal Heirs: Sera's bloodline is rare except in Brechtür. Or perhaps this is only because chroniclers and bards tend to miss the mercantile houses, where her line prospers?

Bloodmark: Harmonious features. Long arms and/or legs. Six digits. Large ears. Melodious voice. Bad teeth. Nearsightedness. Short stature. Birthmarks can be any color.

Masela

The old goddess of water and the sea, Masela was a powerful and energetic lady and the champion of the first true civilization of Cerilia.

Spheres of Influence: Sea, law, civilization, crafts, women, Masetians.

Divine Heir: Nesirie is a grief-sticken goddess, lacking the energy of her predecessor. She focuses more on healing, love and support of others.

Mortal Heirs: Masela's bloodline was most common among her children, the Masetians. Most of them perished or were absorbed by the Khinansi, so her bloodline is rare today.

Bloodmark: Pale skin in women, chocolate brown in men. Plump faces and features. Short. Singing voice and habit. Blue birthmarks, nails or eyebrows. Bluish hair. Large eyes.

Vorynn

Vorynn was the god of the Vos, a dreamer and introvert who could not prevent his people's corruption by Azrai.

Spheres of Influence: Dreams, moon, wisdom, Vos.

Divine Heir: Ruornil never tried to reassert his line among the Vos; he seeks few followers, accepting only those who search for him. He is a god of magic and mystery more than a lord of wisdom and dreams.

Mortal Heirs: Vorynn has few mortal heirs in prominent positions. Rather, his heirs are found among recluses, wizards and mystics all over the continent.

Bloodmark: Extremely plentiful hair. Contrasting tufts of hair color. Huge eyes. Red or red, far-seeing eyes. A distant look. Pale skin. White birthmarks. Albinism. .
