An unconventional swashbuckler choosing his own path, the oddball swashbuckler refuses to follow a set training regimen.

Class Information

A swashbuckler with fewer but more flexible feats.

Class: swashbuckler.

Alignment: Any nonlawful.

Hit Die: d10.

Class Abilities

The oddball swashbuckler has all the class abilities of the swashbuckler, except as noted below.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

An oddball swashbuckler is proficient with all simple weapons, all martial melee weapons, and with bucklers and small shields. Note that using a small shield prevents the oddball swashbuckler from using the precise strike deed.

Deeds

An oddball swashbuckler has more flexibility when selecting deeds, but does not learn as many deeds as a regular swashbuckler. At level 1, 3, and every 4 levels after level 3, the oddball swashbuckler does not automatically gain three new deeds. Instead she selects one swashbuckler deed she is of high enough level to qualify for. In addition, at each such level, she can select one of the following.

  • Another swashbuckler deed she has sufficiently high level to qualify for.
  • A grit feat she fulfills the prerequisites for and that does not recover grit or reduce grit expenditures. Specifically, the oddball swashbuckler cannot choose Extra Grit, Fabulist, or Signature Deed.
  • A daring act.

At 3rd level, all oddball swashbucklers gain the precise strike deed without having to spend a deed option to get it.

At the GMs option, this archetype can be combined with other archetypes that modifies the swashbuckler's list of deeds, using that other archetype's modified list instead of the original list to base his choice of deeds on.

Summary of Lost Class Abilities
