Maritime Provinces

Formed out of the former states of Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire as well as the former Canadian province of New Brunswick and parts of Quebec.

It is strange how this collection of conservative New England states have been able to form an effective and independent state. In many ways, it is a sattelite state of the Atlantic Coalition and the Empire State, but in other ways it maintains it's independence.

After the St. Lawrence debacle of '37, the Maritime Provinces is in a tenative federation with the Atlantic Coalition, but the two nations still have separate laws and governements.

It is a dry nation, but enforcement is lax in the outback. Neigbourhoods are supposed to be self-regulating in this regard, and for the more religious communities, this system works fine. In other parts, the home still putters on.
